We are happy that you are open to using your skills and abilities to further the mission of Rexdale Alliance Church—to lead people to Jesus and assist them in becoming His committed followers. Our volunteer program is designed to help us fulfill that purpose!

AREAS OF NEEDS
Family (Children) Ministry
Children or Family Ministries (FM) seeks to develop spiritual champions and helps children build deep and lasting relationships with God.
Lead: Jessica Nguyen

Loves babies (0-18 months)
Enjoys cuddling, singing, reading with babies
Owns comforting hands and voice to crying babies
Loves connecting with parents and nursery team
What you are committing to:
Available on rotation every 4-6 weeks
Be in the nursery 15 min before service to receive babies
Caring about the babies – singing, reading, cuddling.
Connecting and supporting parents during service time
To be part of a nursery team who works together
Praying for babies and families

Rex Youth
Rex Youth seeks to be a safe place for teens to come they are. Our Youth Ministry is committed to discipling teenagers between grade 6-12 through regular Friday nights activities and external events such as annual retreats.

3-4 Leaders team meetings each ministry year (in-person or zoom)

Young Adults
The Rexdale Young Adults (RYA) seeks out community, relationship, and growth rooted in Jesus by connecting weekly for conversation that explores following Jesus, spiritual practices, and living as a Jesus-follower amidst adversity.

Fostering community, relationship, and spiritual growth amongst our young adults
Helping design the content and rhythms of young adult gatherings
Helping lead informal weekly gatherings and larger social events periodically
Regular meetings with young adult leadership team to prepare for upcoming gatherings

Adult Ministries
The Adults Ministries serve the men and women in our congregation through a variety of spiritual formation opportunities and join them on their faith journey as they grow in their relationship with God and one another.

Has past small group leadership or other leadership experience would be an asset, but not necessary
What you are committing to:
Attend provided Life Group Leader Trainings (1 class initially with further opportunities)
Provide facilitation and spiritual leadership to a small group of 4-10
Available for bi-weekly or monthly groups meetings between September to June

Is growing in relationship with Jesus and healthy relationships with others
Has any past leadership experience would be an asset
Desires to come alongside other believers to help establish a strong foundation to their faith journey
What you are committing to:
Willingness to attend provided training (1 class)
Provide facilitation and spiritual leadership to a small group of 3-6
Available for 8 Mondays from September to November (begins Sept. 23)

If you are someone who:
Is growing in relationship with Jesus and has healthy relationships with others
Have completed the Alpha course would be an asset, but not necessary
Possess a joyful curiosity in engaging in conversations with those outside or new to the faith!
What you are committing to:
Willingness to attend provided training (1 class)
Creatively engage with those outside or new to the faith to host a small group using the Alpha materials in a home, local restaurant or other desired location
Prayer
One of our core church values is prayerfulness. The Prayer Team provides opportunities for RAC to engage in prayer for our communities through various events, such as weekly corporate prayer or our annual Call to Prayer.

Joining the Tuesday Prayer Team
Creatively provide a prayer opportunity once a month for RAC to engage in prayer for our local neighbourhood needs & outreach (facilitating online, providing prayer walks in the neighbourhood, etc.) Coaching provided!
Neighborhood Connections Church (NCC)
NCC is a unique worship experience for people from the community who don't generally attend church and feel more comfortable in a relaxed setting outside a sanctuary. It offers hot lunch and food bank service every Tuesday.

Must be available Tuesday mornings until 1PM (starting at 8AM if possible)

Sorting the food donations
Setting up tables for lunch and serving the food
Tidying up lunchroom and kitchen afterwards
Socializing with our guests
Music (Worship)
The Music Team seeks to be worshippers who lead others in worship. They work to prepare our worship services, striving to make music with excellence while helping others grow in their gifting and leading songs that glorify God.

Leading others in worship, maintaining your own spiritual health to do so
Thursday rehearsal evening from 7-9pm, arriving early to get setup
Sunday morning rehearsal and service from 8:30-11:30am, plus setup and teardown
Ideally, volunteer at least one week a month on same team (four-week rotation), but currently need musicians that can play two weeks a month (bi-weekly)
Completing ministry application and vulnerable sector police check

Tech & Production
As a vital part of our worship ministry, the Tech Team works behind the scenes to produce worship services in such a way that our presentation is enhanced and all distractions minimized. They work in the areas of audio, visual, lighting, video, and broadcast.

Thursday evening rehearsals from 7-9pm, arriving in time to prepare
Sunday morning rehearsals from 8:30-10am (arriving beforehand for setup), services from 10-11:30am, and post-service teardown
Orientation and training over the span of several rehearsals and Sunday services
Being attentive during rehearsals and services, making necessary changes
Being gentle with and caring for the equipment
Completing Ministry Application and Vulnerable Sector Police Check

Office
From welcoming visitors into the building, to a variety of administrative tasks, the office volunteer supports RAC’s mission by assisting with our day-to-day operations.

Integration
First impression matters! The Integration Team spearheads our efforts in becoming a welcoming place for both regular and new Sunday attendees.

Welcome and guide new visitors to the designated parking areas for “Newcomers”
Keep track of the parking lot fullness and redirect overflow traffics accordingly
Work as part of a cohesive team, supporting fellow volunteers in the ministry
